Hi,
The last line of my last blog inspired me. We who are unemployed or damaged by this horrible economy- we must come together and get the attention of the powers that be. We are easily 15% of the poplulation. For those of us over 45, it’s 25% . Dat’s a bunch of people, and our needs must be addressed. Period. We are all totally screwed, and there’s no hope in sight.
Note: Damaged includes friends and family, the under-employed, those forced to work 2 jobs, those who live in constant fear of being let go….
There are lots of actions we as a group could take. A big idea would be a New Years Day Million Citizen march at the White House. Better yet, make in Christmas Day. But there’s lots of smaller actions we could take. We’ve got all the technology to do it. I will devote as many pages of this website as needed. And with a MeetUp.com group, we can do everything we need to do - get members to sign up (free), set meetings and promote them, create discussions, etc. We could have one MeetUp club for the country. There are lots of ways to make this happen.
But first we gotta mobilize. Let’s make this idea go viral throughout the Internet, thru your Social Networks – just like how people got Obama elected.
I can’t and won’t do this alone. I gotta job search too. You contact Move on.org with this. Blog, tweeter, facebook. Talk. Put it on your voice message. If people support this, then I will drop the $80 to create a Meetup.com group. I’ll call it “Unemployed People Unite“.
And sees here. I’s from da South Side of Che-ca-go, and if youse helps me out wit dis, den I will make sure youse get’s tak’in care of if it takes off. After all, dis is da land of “Where’s Mine.” Let’s get everybody from everywhere in on dis. Ok?

Unemployed People Unite sounds like a great idea and an important and timely one at that. I was just out to dinner with a group of 7 friends and relatives, and 2 of the 7 recently lost their jobs. I will definitely do what I can to help you with Unemployed People Unite.
