Launching The NatCap Club
“By the way, what’s this place doin’to be part of
President Obama’s Green Economy?”
The NatCap Club’s goal is to suggest to Regular Folks that if they ask this question once, they have done something to make the world better. That’s all they need to do.
Because unless Regular Folks find something they can do without it being a pain in the rear, we don’t stand a snow ball’s chance in hell of making real inroads into the awful mess we’re in.
What is the Do-Gooder Economy?
It’s every organization being committed to reducing the damage they are doing to people and the Earth.
Regular Folks have sacrificed enough.
The NatCap Club speaks with the voice of the Regular Guy. I’m a Good Guy – I work hard, help out coaching my kid’s soccer team, we give a little to a few Do-Gooder organizations. That’s the best I can do. It’s Frick’n Goofy to preach to us. Don’t go telling me the first thing I gotta do is sacrifice and change. Yeah, like Global Warming is my fault . I gotta do this, and I gotta do that. Like take shorter showers, drive less, stop eating McDonald’s, or even stop smoking.
Let organizations sacrifice first – and prove it!
The NatCap Club is about us Regular Folks motivating others to change. Don’t make me go researching if they are good or not . I haven’t got the time. Let them prove it to me. And not just businesses, but even my church and the Cancer society I give to. They buy more stuff that’s damaging to People and the Planet than I do.
One stop to get smart.
NatCap’s got everything Regular Folks need to cut thru the Bulls**t and wrap their arms around the Do-Gooder Economy. I’m a sharing kinda guy –like lessons I’ve learned. And I got the scars to prove it. Intelligent blogs, commentary & info that cut cross lot of disciplines of understanding.
Keep your sense of humor.
Probably the most important part of the club. I give out Awards too – for Good stuff and Bad.
A friendly, have-a-beer community type place
It’s free – no membership fees or nothing. You can hang out online and in-person. Even start your own local chapter – anywhere in the world. All different sides of yourself, like what inspires you.

Mike Royko and his buddy Slats were my inspirations. The John Kerry staff, they gave me a buddy like Slats – PackerBacker Bob. And me, a Full-On Bears fan. Sheesh. I like him though. My town, Riverdale got hit like a sledge hammer with all the good & bad of the 60’s. My survival is due in no small measure to the courageous and caring Liberal Catholic grade school priests, nuns, and lay teachers. I always said I would dedicate my 1st book to them and the NatCap Club is kinda my “1st book.”
