If you are here, you most likely already are a Good Person. But it’s always nice to be appreciated for just being who you are. The UDa is for doing good stuff, and the F’n Goofy Awards (FDa) are for totally wacked ideas or actions.
The 3 types of the UDa …. the U-Done-Good Award
the “Cool”
You are a Cool person If you ask one person THE QUESTION
“What is this place doing to reduce the destruction it is doing to People and the Planet?”
It’s that simple. You only to have to ask it once. No threatening to buy someplace else. If they ask for more info, it would be nice if you told them about this site and stuff, but it’s not a requirement.
The PLACE could be anywhere you buy something from, or your place of worship, or your kids school. The PERSON could be the check-out person or the receptionist. Or the customer service rep who answers the phone when you call your cable company. It would be nice if you felt like taking a few extra minutes to ask to speak to the manager. But it doesn’t have to be.
the “Way Cool”
If you ask THE QUESTION more than once, like say 5 times or so, then you are “Way Cool.”
the “You Rock!”
If you ask it a bunch of times, then in my book, ”You Rock!”
Other ways to get a UDa
Participation in Improve The Economy group also gets you a UDa. Joining, you get a Cool. Come to an event, or do some promotion, a Way Cool. FULL On into the group and You Rock!
Why is doing this stuff important?
Because you are putting the Do-Gooder Economy topic out there. A concern about what they are doing. The employee you say it to, maybe they mention it to a co-worker. Maybe they mention it to their manager or the minister or whatever. Maybe a few people have gotten a Cool UDa at this place, so they’ve heard it before
”It was so wierd, this guy asked me something about what are we doing to be better to people and the environment. Said something about Do-Gooder Economy. They were nice and all.”
You are the customer. Every store cares about what their customers think. Every priest or rabi cares about what the congregation wants. Companies pay big bucks to do customer surveys . And If they don’t care, then they are stupid, and they probably will be less successful, make less money. You get the idea.
It ain’t like you’re getting extreme or anything. Just a simple question, and then off you go. If it’s a place you go to alot, maybe you see them again.
Here’s the thing that alot of us Activists don’t get:
Unless I have a good reason to care about what you think, then I probably won’t care. I got enough crap to deal with.
It’s one of the reasons why I gave us Activists a F’n Goofy Award (FGa)
